[glow=red,2,300] lol, sorry i haven't been on this psot for awhile, i forgot to telly uo how i took the pics. i have a digital camera and you can adjust how bright it is and i darken it to as dark as it will go (-2.0 EV) then i chose the power eyepiece i want for the telescope (i usually have a 25mm for moons) and i put the eyepiece in, and i focus it, and then i put the lens of the camera up to the eyepiece and i can see what the pic looks like in the back of the camera cuz its a digital so when its centered i take it. then when i got the biggere one I had just zoomed the camera in some. wow i should try it one day...i could 'borrow' my bro's digital camera...and i *think* we have a telescope....lol not the real professional ones of course...gotta see how that goes... so you just stick the camera lens into the telescope hole? lol i cant imagine that even working...but if it worked for you, im sure it does lol...gotta try it someday! Those photos woudl be awesome for my BOS photo secition (lol yes i actually have a photo section in my BOS with altars, new items, just some wiccan related photos!) Its like a pic of every moon for each esbat...wow lol but i dont think im talented enough to get it to work lol

amy- lol, no i haven't heard of it, not everyone has money for a lot of nice stuff, they are others out there who dont even have what you have, they're still on a VCR lol.
WC- lol, no you dont "stick the camera into the telescope hole" lol, you select and eyepiece for the telescope (i usually use a 25 mm eyepiece for it, thats what most have, or a 20mm). you put the eyepiece in the hole, there are little screws of some sort where the eyepiece goes, you wanna screw those in so they hold the eyepice in place. you look through it and focus it with a little knobby thing. then you want to center the moon (or whatever object you want) in the eyepiece. then you take your camera and if it has this setting and you can adjust it, adjust the "EV" to as low as it goes (i use -2.0) if you dont know about this, ask your brother about it, his camera may not have it, but thats ok, the pic will just be brighter and you wont be able to see as many details like the ones i did (if the camera doesn't have an EV setting, i would recommend taking a pic either when the moon is a waxing or waning crescent (not the little tiny thin crescent, a decent size of course) so you can get some craters in the pic from to angle the sunlight is hitting them). anyway lol, after you adjust the EV (if you can) you put the camera lens up to the eyepiece, center the pic as close as possible. this is done by looking at the screen on the back of the digital camera, most digital cameras have a screen in the back. (if you have a photo editing program like Adobe or HP (what i have) you can just upload em to ur comp, open the pic, and crop it so its centered if you cant get it exactly when you are taking the pic), once its as centered as you can get it without it looking messed up and the light distributiong across the image on the screen is even you can take the pic. if you want the pic a little closer, zoom in the camera lens (if it has this feature). you may have to recenter the telescope seeing as its your first time trying to adjust the camera, or maybe you can get your brother to do it before hand so you dont have to mess around with it. does this make sense? if not ill try re-explaining in an email. and if your brothers camera doesn't have a screen in the background let me know so i can explain a different way to center the pic (this goes with a film camera as well) so amy, if you want to try it with film let me know and ill send you and email as well about it. I took a few pics of a lunar eclipse with film, they turned out pretty good, but one when the moon was fully eclipsed there is only a dark red crescent. oh geez, sorry about the length again guys!!!!!

ray-i love space, it wont ever fade for me. been into it my whole life and i finally got 2 telescopes, one good one, and one cheapy one. Im goin for NASA (astronaut) so
lunar_ lol, the one i got (good one) cost like....umm....i got it at this space camp i went to, i think it was like 150$ for the telescope (reflector) with a 25MM lens and a 10MM lens. My other cheapy one i take up orth sometimes is a Meade refractor. dunno if u guys know much about telescopes or not, ray you prolly do right? well i bought some solar filter film off the internet (studies proved it safe) and i made solar filtar for the view finder and the telescope itself for both of my telescopes so i can look at the sun now too. I wanna buy a really nice one for my Orion reflector, like an H alpha kind of something so i can a lot of details you know. i still wanna l;ook at the moon with the filter on, cuz its still sunlight, they block out 99% of the sunlight, and yes, you can see the moon through it cuz i put it up to the sky to see if it worked and i saw the moon. theres a reason why but its long enough here and i gotta go soon! post it up tomorrow
