(finally got to postin this lol)
My great great great great (maybe another "great" in there i think) came over from germany and got enough money to bring his family over. name is Sigfreid. he and his family homesteaded most of that land up there in upper Wisconsin, including where my great uncle owen who fough in WWII still lives in Spirit Lake, where I was staying in Rib Lake (right next to each other). I found files of it for a family paper.
everytime i used to go up north I felt so draw to everything, the fields, the lake, the forests, all nature, like something was calling me, and i never knew why or what it was. well this time it was my first time being up there since I had become a Wiccan, and i felt so at home and welcomed, more than here. I couldn't belive it. everytime I got a chance to go walk around or go down to the lake i did. we were camping and there is this cemetary (Lakeview, in RIb Lake, WI) right next to the camp site w/ a metal linked fence (like for a playground) in between. It is actually recorded as haunted. I guess its some little boy that was in a car accident and i guess sometimes you can hear him. heres a page on it: theshadowlands.net/places/wisconsin.htm (scroll down to Rib Lake, there had other info i found on it, i dont remember what I typed for the search....) There is family of mine buried up there in that cemetary (and theres another around my great uncles house up there that we visit and its filled with family, we are all related, just generations and generations from my dads big side of the family) but i walked through the one by where we were camping a few times and once w/ my grandma (wasn't camping w/ us, but was living around us) and I noticed there were a lot of rocks, so I picked some up for runes.
then one night it was perfectly clear so I decided id go down to the lake (again, right by where we were camping) and there is little lot for cars for the ppl fishing and stuff right there. I went down there and stood at the edge of the lot so i could see more over the trees and i loked directly up. omgosh! i couldn't believe it, there was just thousands and thousands of stars and the milky way across the entire sky. you know how in the city you can just barely make out the constellations cuz there aren't hardly any stars? well there were so many you could hardly make out the constellations. it was amazing. i decided id go off onto the dock. it was so pretty seeing the milky way over the lake and the stars. the entire sky was filled. I had never seen so many stars in my life, I will never forget that moment and the moment I felt when I got there, so at home.
