MM, just had a few questions/comments on ritual robes!
so who here has one? Would you want one, or no? why? what color would you get, why?
Okay well I'm pretty interested in getting one... so I just want other's input. And ALL the ones I've looked at recently have like twelve inch bell sleeves... umm to me that screams FIRE HAZARD!!! So if you have those... do they get in the way? has anyhone's robe caught on fire lol? any good sources of where I could buy one? I was thinking of a black one... just because black absorba energy and to me it's like an all purpose color and white too... but that reminds me to much of pastors and stuff... I see them in those EVERY sunday.... so idk... not white. Okay I guess I'm done rambling lol. You're turn .

No, I dont have a ritual robe. I usualy just where something clean and comfy to do my ritual in. No, nothing with huge long sleeves that could sweep the candles right off my altar lol (yes, it screams Fire Hazard to me as well!) But if I were to get one...a color id pick...hmmm any dark color would be fine. Its better so that its harder to get dirty lol. I tend to make huge messes....I mean once I had mud all over me and my altar during a ritual, so - real mess maker here! Id just recommend getting someting of natural material (like cotton) so that energy can flow through it as opposed to synthetic materials which would make it harder for energy to flow through. (it might be a barrier, which you definitely dont want!) But i think itd be nice to get one...get one lunar! maybe find one with smaller sleeves lol... or better yet, make your own if you can sew! Wouldnt THAT be aewsome!

yea i found a nice cotton black one off... EBAY! that i like. lol gotta love ebay. yea right... I can't sew at all lol otherwise i'd ALWAYS be making myself belly dance *goodies* The sleeve length isnt told though... but it looks only maybe six inches at the most... I could always get it "altered" or whatever. Of course, my little sister thinks getting a ritual robe is COMPLETLY creepy. So i asked how her pastor isn't creepy and she's like well they're white not black and dnt have hoods!!!! ::sigh:: Really black is a good color choice... absorbs energy, dsnt get as messy, will always match your altar cloth exc. in the pic it's shown with a "belt" type sash though so I'm going to get fabric to use for that and correspond it to what i want... like a silver one for full moon stuff exc. I'm also currrently bidding on a triple goddess circlet off ebay too... idk... I think it'll be nice! lol. And my dad said he'll get me the robe for a Yule present but i have to wait till then lol. but wow when you think about it Yule's not too far off.... geez the year went by fast!

LOL! Careful Lunar! EBay is VERY addictive and im speaking from experience! I use to be (my mom as well) very addicted!!! We bought A LOT from it...and was constantly on it checking for deals... its just SO easy to get stuff....! I mean a few clicks, arrives at your mail box and done! (of course...you hardly even notice that huge scar on your bank acct sometimes ) Get us a link to that Ebay Auction!!! I wanna see!!!! Dont worry, I wont bid Im broke right now....I just spend like $40 on some horsey apparel on ebay! It just came in the other day lol And its not creepy at all! Its just like any other clothing. The only reason people think its creepy is cause of stereo-typish ideas! Sucks eh. Your choice sounds good! As long as you like it, its perfect - regardless of who thinks its creepy! HAve fun bidding!

lol yea that's how i always am... get alot of money... spend a litte.... save the rest for awhile... then spend it all... wait.... get more money exc. ::sigh:: yea sasha's very stereotypicalish she says she's not and trys not to be though but I still love her to death! Just gotta teach her a few things though and I will take a pic of it when I get it! how about that? It'll be a little while but idk.... not toooo long. well... next question.... so what do people wear under robes normally? in the end I'll just wear whatever I want to ... but just wondering what "tradition" or others do.. just curious!

well im going over my dad's today and my robe came in yesterday. He looked at it though and told me i would be dissapointed. he said it looks really cheap and NOTHING like the picture it "was" and the hood is like as big as half the robe unlike the pic. Well that kinda stuff happens on ebay/internet sometimes but.... I will wait to be dissapointed untill I see it for myself. But gosh he got in a bid war and paid ALOT for it... probably why he's so dissapointed. we will see!!!!

ummm..... lol........ i'll say this..... the starting bid was 35 bucks...not bad for a ritual robe ... usually sixty something in online stores aren't they? anyway...... my daddy won the "war" but......
Oh, I have never gotten into a bid war... I always wait till within the last five minutes of the auction to bid..... thankfully none of them have ended at midnight hehe.

yeah... I go to my dad's room searching all over his closet when I look over and realize it's the wrinkled heap on the floor... how nice of him to put it back in the box and fold it, huh? Boys. Well the hood is way unproportional but the robe itself seems okay. It doesn't seem cheap to me... although not as great as I expected but not bad... not really sure how I feel about it yet though. I want a cord for it because otherwise it's kinda big to not be "secured" and he ddnt have anything and he has NO full length mirrors in his WHOLE house... so the tiny glance i got standing on the toilet wasn't too great hehe. So I guess I'll have to wait and see.

ok ok I know a little late posting this but about ritual robes I have many many of them.
currently I have 3 black (2hooded one not) one gree, purpple, white, dark and light blue, yellow, red, a see through one (for the skyclad but not skyclad rituals) I can do a ritual skyclad basicly outside with out anyone realising that if the get close its completely see through.
two where bought at a wiccan store. one is from what hshould have been a holloween coustume. and I made all of the others
each robe i use for a different purpose or example fire magick red. properity magic green. ect.....
The best time to get the materials needed and any fabric you want for anything wicca such as a altar cloth, is now right near holloween such great material at walmart right now lol.

Oh Lunar the robe doesnt sound that bad! Look on the bright side...at least it arrived at your doorstep. What if the seller had been a scam? Or it got lost in the mail? Youre pretty lucky And the robe sounds fine....get a cord for it. I like cords that go around the waist as well...just got to a fabric store, get a piece of cloth that goes with it and just tie it around or something. Or maybe just use a funky silver belt or somethign, sorta the hoopy ones...that might look fine...what color is ur robe again? Black right? So that shoudl look fine... Get us a photo of it!
