If You Knew......
If you knew that I'm a Witch, Would you wish to burn me at the stake? Or try to understand by having an open mind?
If you knew I prayed to the Ancient Ones, Would you think I prayed to Satan? Or would you realize that He has no place in my faith?
If you knew that I Draw Down the Moon, Would you think that I had lost my mind? Or would you care to watch an see the magick in what I do?
If you knew that I have a Book of Shadows, Would you think it held deadly and evil things? Or would you be willing to look within it's pages and see that no evil lurks there?
If you knew that I believed in a God and Goddess, Would you condemn me for believing so? Or would you grant this right to me?
If you knew that I lived by: 'An it harm none, do what ye will.' Would you tell me it could not be done? Or would you feel in your heart it would be good for all mankind?
We all have choices in this lifetime, The Path I walk, is the Path that I have chose, just as you have chosen yours, I am one with the spirits, an a gentle soul, I honor the earth, and all that live upon it. I have many names, Pagan, Wiccan, Witch, But if you knew.......

Behold the Witch
Behold the Witch, as strong as any man. Know the Witch, as she walks upon the land. Respect the Witch, her powers to beguile. Admire the Witch, her understanding smile. Honour the Witch, as pure as Mothers love. Applaud the Witch, as destiny she moves. Acclaim the Witch, as the future she designs. Envy the Witch, her patience over time. Regard the Witch, her inspiration deep. Commend the Witch, her family she keeps. Approve the Witch, as standards she up holds. Revere the Witch, her faith and will, extol. Appreciate the Witch, as nature she praises. Eulogize the Witch, as children she raises. Venerate the Witch, for she keeps the ancient lores. Become the Witch, and these values will be yours....

The Witch Alone (by Scott Cunningham) Beyond the town, beneath the moon Beside the standing stone There lives a woman, fair of faith We call the witch alone She sings to sun and moon and stars And gathers herbs and weeds With which she fashions ancient charms And other magic deeds She worships not at altars built By hands of mortal men But in the misty glade Beyond the farthest glen What need has she of flashing swords Of crystals glowing bright Of censors and of colored cords That grace the Wiccan rite? Her tools are fashioned from the earth And wind and fire and rain Her rites are dances wild and free That call the gods amain When spring and summer pass to fall And twilight fills her eyes She'll lie upon the browning grass And smile as she dies For though she leaves her mortal shell Of flesh and blood and bone She knows she does not die but lives On, as the witch alone....

The Sacred Three My fortress be Encircling me, Come and be round My hearth, my home.
Fend Thou my kin And every sleeping thing within From scathe, from sin. Thy care our peace Through mid of night To light's release.

Caim
The Celtic Christians had a practice called the 'caim', in which they drew around them a circle.... this was a symbol of the encircling love of God.
A Caim Prayer
The Mighty Three My protection be Encircling me You are around My life, my home Encircling me O Sacred Three The Mighty Three

Lorica
The early Celtic church had many 'breastplate prayers', or 'lorica', which declared the surrounding and encompassing of God. Such prayers were not to make God come - He is already there - but to open our eyes to the reality. In breastplate prayers, the person who prays seeks to become aware of what is already a reality.

An Old Wedding Blessing
May God be with you and bless you. May you see your children's children. May you be poor in misfortune, rich in blessings. May you know nothing but happiness From this day forward.
May you have - Walls for the wind And a roof for the rain, And drinks bedside the fire Laughter to cheer you And those you love near you, And all that your heart may desire.

Blessing for the Children
O Thou, to whom to love and be are one, hear my faith-cry for them who are more thine than mine. Give each of them what is best for each. I cannot tell what it is. But Thou knowest. I only ask Thou love them and keep them With the loving and keeping Thou didst Show to Mary's Son and Thine.

In Avalon, Where dreams can come true, Where friendship is everything, For everyone, even you.
The three mages, Adriane, Kara, and Emily, Each have thier own destiny.
One will follow her heart, One will see in darkness, And one will change completely, Where friendship is the most important thing, Not money or jewelry.
IN AVALON

Kids are magic Kids are neat Kids know the Earth Under their feet
Kids can see thing Grown-ups miss Kids hear the wind Give the trees a kiss
Kids are magic And kids are wise They see special things When they open their eyes
So look around What do you see? Is there a bird or a bug or a squirrel Living in that tree?
Is there anyone living Behind that rock? Do you see any ants? Or spiders, or moths? Do you hear a bird? Do you hear a cat? Do you hear a dog, or mouse, or gnat?
Listen kids....and you will see All the world is alive Around you and me!

Witch?
Witch? Yes, I'm a Witch. I've stood before The Lord of Death and found him not unkind. I've practiced well the sacred hidden lore The words of power and the spells that bind And loosen; culled from nature's trove The herbs that heal - But most of all have I Danced naked, free and proud beneath the sky Unto the Goddess, She who shines above.
Witch? Yes, I'm a Witch for I am free From hope of Heaven and the fear of Hell. No solemn vale of tears is this to me. Earth is my cup of joy. I love her well. Seek not to turn me from my destined fate. Earth is enough for me, and if I burn I shall not leave her but to earth return To live again a Witch - Reincarnate.
For 'tis our promise and our firm belief That She who loves us brings us back again As seeds once buried rise again in leaf, Stem, branch and blossom in the Summer rain. And are we less than seeds? But should it be That one life only was our meted span And Power comes but once to any man I’ll live it lusty, joyfully and free And be a Witch!
