alright, so as i posted in the diaries the other night my wife has some problems with wicca. it's not like she's against the religion or anything and she's totally come to be even proud that i'm of the faith, but she's had soooo many bad experences with people claiming to be of the faith (the first being her cousins when they were about 12 or so who was into it for about three months and used it to be "better than (her)." with all of that she still has some problems with ... it's difficult to explain, not the religion so much just some of the things surrounding it.
atfirst i thought i'd just try to show her that the religion wasn't all bad, be a good role model of it or that sort of thing, now she's decided that she's okay with the religion and my being wiccan and wants help to get past the bad experences and impressions of the religion.
so anyway, i was wondering if anyone could offer up any advice on the subject?
she really wants to get past her reservations and negative feelings about the faith. it's really sad all the experences she's had; she really wants to be able to fully accept the religion and we're both really religious people (though she's still having some trials finding her own religion) and we're so close that this sort of small rift really disturbs us both. but what with all the impressions she's been giving of the religion ... there was one where she was in barns and nobels, the books there are all based on stero types and 'be a real witch' it's all really comercial and just horrible. she saw this 'be a witch kit' there once for little girls that was just *rolls eyes* i mean it's like for nine year olds who want something cool to do at sleep overs. all sparkles and a black candel and a book of spells and potions and *sigh* it just makes me sick, ya know?
oh i almost forgot, this morning she was asking what was concidered a pagan religion and how wicca was connected to it and the difference between being pagan or wiccan. i'm not entirly sure myself, i mean i can guess but i told her i'd post and ask.
