I am getting some incense for Yule/Christmas-from HotTopic:P but I dont have a burner...its the longer kind and I don't even know where to start to find one... I found a small vase that is metal and if the sticks are too long, I could break them in half, and put half in and stick the vase thingy over something fireproof to catch the ashes...does anyone have any suggestions or think this would work? thanks!

I'm guessing you have the stick incense right?
OK...ideas...
-you could use a cup or small bowl...fill it up with sand (sand from the park..or go buy some coloured sand to match your altar, mood, etc) and put it at the bottom of cup/bowl so that it will catch the ashes
-a lot of stores sell incense holders that are like a long long wide plate/ruler type of thing and its wooden or metal...and the incense is sort of at an angle over it and it catches the ashes...ok its hard to picture..let me see if i can find a photo online or something there we go: www.wholesalejewelryfinding.com/OCTOBER/INCENSEHOLDER/INC2490.jpg
There are less fancier ones...ive seen them for a dollar before. Even check a dollar shop...ive seen them there as well. They dont necessarily have to be expensive!
for your vase idea....find out what type of metal it is first.
