~little toe wiggle~ This may sound odd, but I honestly don't really "believe in" vegetarianism. For health reasons, sure, because you don't like meat, sure, if you are against factory farming and can't afford free range, I can understand it. The biggest thing I wish people would realize, especially those who AREN'T vegetarian, is that a diet comprised mainly of meat is NOT a healthy diet. Overeating protein products just is not the way to live a healthy life. I also wish people were more sensitive TO factory farming. How we treat animals being raised for food is abhorrent. A balanced, healthy diet is important, but so is respecting the quality of life of ALL living things. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Veganism and vegetarianism are fine and dandy, and I give a thumbs up to anyone who is Vegan or a vegetarian and is healthy and all of that, but I also think that there are important lessons than be learned and adhered to within diet and the concept of balance that are just as important, at least within the context of Wicca the The Rede. That's a little jumbled, but I hope you understand what I'm saying. ~D

Thanks for sharing your views on vegetarians. Interesting. And I do understand what your saying. And definitely thumbs up to those who are vegetarians! Something I really wish I was strong enough to do...but unfortunately, im a meat-lover, as BAD as that sounds! (urgh and I think i definitely overdo it with the protein and meat lol!) But if I were to be vegetarian...I think the main reason would be saving animals. I mean right now, I even do a prayer (to sorta thank the animal for its sacrifice) before each meal. So that would be my main reason. And its not jsut aobut Wicca & the wiccan rede. Its about ME as well. Even if i wasnt wiccan and had no clue about the wiccan rede...i woudl still want to be vegetarian because of the animals. (im a true animal lover ) (And i AM promoting vegetarian in 'The Lounge' which is for off-topic (off topic from Wicca)....so its not really a 'wiccan' thing that im trying to share with everyone.... And also I remember we had a popular Vegetarian topic here before, so just thougth id share!) And raising animals for the sore purpose of food...is definitely terrible. I mean...they were born to die....they live to be food. And they are in HORRIBLE conditions. Its quite terrible. You did bring up a good point there

Ohh what a coincidence! I was just on PETA the other day haha...they have some grotesque and heartbreaking clips there...if you already feel guilty about not going veg, don't watch! I wish I could be a vegetarian...but it is so hard and meat tastes so good! I've tried a few times...and yea I say a little prayer before eating meat too WC!

I know...I think it tastes so good as well. Im really not a vegetable person. I know its soo badd....what a bad diet...i hardly ever touch vegetables. Im making more of an effort to eat some now. But if we cant give up meat...the least we shoudl do is say a prayer And i htink its part of that healthy diet! :(I dont think I'll be visiting PETA than..i dont want to see that but i'll say a prayer for all those animals out there again...

I personally believe the animals have a greater purpose then living in crammed cages and then being eaten, in a lot of animal cases. Thanks for the info though!!!

It doesn't seem like that long in numbers but it feels like a year to me! Umm..yeah, about the Yule altar pics....kinda forgot to take them ALL the time.... and then Imbolc kinda rolled around...but i JUST took pics of that so don't worry...I'll get those to you guys..man i should've taken Yule ones grr (always next year!!) I can't wait to see all of yours!!! Yes, I think I'll put the Veg stickers on my school folder w/ my other "bumper" stickers I get from the metaphysical store. I'm currently trying to find a cute vegetarian shirt somewhere...but I'm still not sure if I want like a cute one to show my veg. pride or one more "gets ya thinking" like a pig asking it's mommy where bacon comes from (I find that one so 'aww' ish.) Okay...sorry to kinda get off topic.

bumper stickers here are 2$ at the most usually 1.25$ not bad to me. There is a store at our mall w/ vegetarian t-shirts and the internet has alot too hehe (favorite shopping source!) as for the name i just got bored w/ my old screen name and wanting something less "IM A WITCH" ish b/c alot of people would ask me what bruja meant...more than i thought hehe. (guess I didn't think too much on that beforehand, never really do!) and I wanted something that kinda was like wiccan and belly dancerish so I picked tribal since tribal is also one of my favorite belly dance styles.
